OOhhhh tinitus its caused by lots of things… its normally a symptom of a disease rather than a disease itself!
Things that can cause it:
abnormally loud sounds in the ear
ear infections
foreign objects in the ear
nose allergies that prevent fluid drain
wax build-up
in-ear headphones
natural hearing impairment (caused by old age)
side effect of some medications
Lot of musicians end up getting tinitus, or people who go to lots of rock gigs and stand too near the speakers.
Your ears are quite sensitive instruments, and as sound waves carry energy, and the louder they are, the more energy they carry, listening to too much loud noise can damage them.
The most common symptoms are a constant ringing in your ears, very annoying!
Yes! But it all depends on whats causing it… its mostly caused by other things such as infections etc its not a disease itself. You need to treat the cause of it to get rid of the tinitus. Best thing is to go see a doctor who will check out whats going on inside the ear and be able to say whats causing this (:
As you are young, the best thing to do would be to try and avoid whatever has caused it in the first place (I’m assuming loud noise…). Hopefully if you do that, it should get better. If it doesn’t I’d advise going to see your doctor about it. There are a lot of things they could try, though sometimes tinitus is permanent and you would have to learn to live with it 🙁
