      Bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz 🙂
I don’t know, but I suspect it is because their wings are flapping so quickly that we hear it as sound. There might be other clever reasons that bees have evolved to vibrate quickly, you could try and follow them around to see if they change their buzzing anywhere?

This is similar to the way that car engines go ‘brmmmm’ even though what you’re hearing is hundreds of fuel/air explosions per second.

The buzzing sound is actually the result of the bee vibrating its flight muscles, not the actual wings flapping. Infact bees can still buzz even when they do not have wings. The buzzing is also louder in bumble bees than other bees because they need to warm up their bodies to be able to fly in low temperatures.
