      Hi

I think I’m more excited to be taking part in the whole event as I’ve heard so much about it over the past year and several of my friends have taken part in previous rounds.

If I did win though it would mean we have some money to put towards the Non-Fiction Science project that we are working on. For this we get school pupils to remake famous movies such as Jurassic Park and while we make them we correct some of the science that the movie has got wrong. The pupils do all the acting, directing and filming while we provide the scripts, props and equipment. We try to make it so that the outcome is really funny. Usually the movies are 2-4minutes long in the end and are really funny to watch back.

I am with Vicky on this one- the chance to be involved in such a great science communication event is the best part. Science is a fantastic career and being able to spread my enthusiasm to other students who are thinking about science as a future is great, for those who don’t think science is their future- hopefully I can demonstrate the important role and benefit of science to society in general.

That being said- everyone likes to win! Bragging rights anyone?

Like the others, I’m having a lot of fun already and usually forget about the competition part of it whilst answering questions! But of course it would be great to win too, stuff always costs money and it will be great to have some to set up a fun public engagement science project! Plus, as Ken says – winning will feel ace!
