Question: What made you chose to be an oceanographer, when did you decide that was what you wanted to do?

  After I finished university I got a job (in business) that I didn’t really like. It took me a while, but my girlfriend (now my wife!) and some other friends helped me realise it s important to do something you are passionate about.
  I’ve always loved the sea, I love diving, sea creatures etc. I also really like physics. I was surprised to find out that I could do both as a job, but when I did I jumped at the chance. That was about 5 years ago, when I was 26.

Question: What made you chose to be an oceanographer, when did you decide that was what you wanted to do?
