      I believe in the big bang theory (good TV show too).

      A massive accretion disc formed out of dust blown out of the first two generations of massive stars that formed after the big bang, swirling around and around and eventually condensing into the rocky planets.

      The crazy thing is our moon – it’s so big! The current belief is that a massive Mars-sized planet smashed into the Earth billions of years ago and threw all the material that formed the moon out into orbit. Now that would have been cool to see!
