• Question: What do you think is the most important aspect of science in modern day life?

      I would say that the most important part of science is the way it influences are day to day lives, so the technological applications of scientific discoveries. The majority of us would not be living today without science & medical progress. Certainly our lives would be totally different without the progress made from the industrial revolution onwards.

      I also think it’s extremely important that science should be allowed to inform public debate and politics. So many of the decisions that we make would be improved with better consideration of the scientific knowledge of the subject, and less rhetoric.

      Yeah I think I am with Jarvist on this one. Doing research is not cheap and costs money. Focusing on important problems that will have an impact on society and the community is important- particularly since alot of our finding ultimately comes from the government.

      I like this question!

      I would say that the most important aspect is the ability to save more lives than ever before and I also think the research into food science and the ability to keep feeding a growing population is really important.
