Wow thats amazing. I do 10kg during my body pump class but I have silly weak girl arms.

To build muscle I would keep doing weights but remember free weights are better, include cardio to burn fat and make sure you do a full body work out.

Training is more important than diet for building muscle!

pasha7- you make me feel inadequate as a man (25 and can do 60kg tops) jj :). I think muscle building is a fine art, admittingly I am not too knowledgeable on the area (as much as I would like to be). Since your still young and something to keep in mind- I have heard that for teenagers whose bodies are still growing, training can be slightly different than to a developed adult (which can be an important point as a lot of stuff you read on the internet is based on the latter). Also, there is only so much muscle you can actually create in a year (although there is some variation between the actual amount between people), as such, body building or muscle gain is a process that takes a while or period of years (depending on you goal). Make sure you do have rest periods between work outs as the muscle needs this, repairs quicker, and will allow you to build muscle faster in the long run. Keeping a record of your training habits is also pretty good as this gives you an indication of your improvement and whether you are hitting a platueo. Unless you are training for a specific sport, mixing up your training regimes with a vairety of exercise is great. Don’t forget to build your leg muscles too- being top heavy with string bean legs is not a good look.

I’ve been using a 12kg kettlebell when I train and moved up to 16 for some exercises. 85kg is a lot but I urge you to be careful!

To add to what Ken says your bones are still developing too and excessive exercise during development can have a bad effect. I think there’s actually a bone that only finishes developing when you’re 21, I’ll do some searching to find out which one!
