In day to day life, there are the four ones we experience, (3 spatial dimensions, up/down, left/right and forward/backward, and time).
There are many physics theories that suggest that there are lots of extra dimensions in addition to these that we don’t experience. These are only really important for some theories about either very very small things (atom sized and smaller) or very large things (the universe) and I don’t know if we will be able to ever properly test these theories and determine how many extra dimensions, if any, really exist.
Jarvist may know more about this though…..

The ones I know of are x,y,z and time as John described.

There is also string theory which has not been proven yet but if its real then there could be up to 11 dimensions!!!
