Question: How is graphite formed?

Anywhere you get lots of carbon together, and it’s got nothing better to do, it will form graphite!

I think the graphite we dig out of the ground formed in a similar way to coal, trees and other fixed-carbon sources ended up in sedimentary rocks which have then been crushed and heated under the surface of the earth and reduced to graphite.
