I go to the gym 4 or 5 days a week. Mostly i do spinning, body combat and weights. I also like to swim.

I play roller derby at the weekends too.

Yes, in fact I’m training for a triathlon at the moment so I’ve been doing lots of swimming, cycling and running. I don’t normally go to a gym, but either train on my own, with a friend and I’m also taking part in one of those military fitness training programs you see taking place in parks, which is really intense.

There is a lot of boxing stuff in the military fitness, which is good fun. I also used to do Taekwondo when I was younger. What kind of things do you do?

A friend of mine is a personal trainer – 3 times a week we go to the park where he trains me, my boyfriend and another friend of ours and we do all sorts of things, kettlebells, dumbells, martial arts, thai boxing and pylometrics training. It’s a lot of fun and probably kind of similar to what John does. I also cycle to and from work, go climbing and play circus-ey things like hula hoop and poi and I love yoga. Unfortunately, I don’t have time to do climbing, circus and yoga every week, really wish I did!

Do you do any sports or martial arts? Roller derby sounds fun!

Well I have a gym membership….but I have been a bit lazy the last couple of months. Totally getting back into it though next month. I have been doing a bit of running over the last couple of years. I am also doing a charity cancer ride later in the year that is 200km. I haven’t ridden a bike since school (so 8 years or so) so it should be interesting. Need to get a bike and some of those revealing skin tight pants. Might also need to get a couple of socks for making an impression on the ladies (if you catch my drift), jj.

I could never stand the gym – that terrible smell of other people’s dried sweat! I much prefer doing activities outside.
I cycle a lot, everywhere around London just to commute and also on longer trips for fun at the weekend.

I go caving at the weekends, which is pretty intense. It’s an outdoor sport, but sort of indoors, so you can even do it when it’s snowing outside & it’s not too bad (caves in the UK are around 10C all year round). The water in the caves during the winter is often snow melt though, which is terrifying cold.

When I go on holiday, it’s always to the mountains. I don’t see the point of skiing though, and don’t do it myself, why get a machine to drag you to the top of a mountain to fall back down it, when you could use your muscles instead?
