The universe is so huge that there has to be other lifeforms somewhere? I kinda hope they do!

As Vicky says, because the Universe is so large (Billions of galaxies, each with Billions of stars, most of which have planets orbitting them), it is very likely that there is life out there somewhere, probably in lots of different places.

The problem is that the Universe is so large and the distances to other stars so great, that it is very difficult to visit other planets. Because of this, we may never get to meet any aliens (which may be a good thing, they always seem to want to do strange things to cows in the movies!).

Also- aliens or extraterrestrial life may not be what movies typically represent them as. Technically, bacteria from another planet could be considered aliens. In this case, this will probably be the first alien encounter we will have (thankfully- I have seen the movie aliens- that doesn’t look like fun)
