0 Question: why do owls howel at night Keywords: animal, communicating, communication, hoot, night, owl, sound Asked by drasgon to Indi on 19 Mar 2012.
Indi Ghangrekar answered on 19 Mar 2012:
Hi drasgon, it’s because they’re nocturnal – they sleep during the day and are out and about hunting small rodents at night time. When they howl or hoot at night, that’s just them communicating whilst they’re awake!
